OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2011. The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine "Some aspects of collecting, storing and recycling used tires" initiated by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine published and come into force.

According to the resolution businesses and organizations that produce and/or importing tires for vehicles required to independently provide further gathering, storage and disposal of used tires or conclude agreements on the implementation of these activities with relevant organizations. "All importers or manufacturers of tires will be collected payment for disposal of used tires. This will clear the vast territory of our country from old tires and stop their accumulation"- Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mykola Zlochevskyi said.

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources within a month together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade and the State Customs Service adopt the gathering order, storage and disposal of used tires.

According to the resolution, the State Customs Service will submit to the State Ecological Inspectorate information about tire clearance to control businesses and organizations that produce tires in Ukraine or import them monthly. The State Ecology Inspection will be assigned to control over compliance with regulations.

In turn, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources will provide a systematic analysis of the situation related to collecting, storing and disposing of used tires. However, the Ministry will promote investment in the development of gathering, storage and disposal of certain types of waste tires as recycled materials. "Today, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has already about five powerful interested investors who are willing to build factories in Ukraine to recycle used tires", - Mykola Zlochevskyi said.
