OREANDA-NEWS. November 14, 2011. Enterprises, created at Navoi Free Industrial-Economic Zone (FIEZ), produced goods for 23.3 billion soums in nine months of 2011.

Currently, thirteen enterprises are operating in Navoi FIEZ. They produce polyethylene and polypropylene pipes, spare parts for GM Uzbekistan (automobiles wires, compressors, speed meters and others), digital TV-tuners, and cosmetic goods.

There is also enterprise on storing fresh fruits and vegetables. There are also enterprises on production of energy saving lamps, LED lamps and light equipment, ADSL and DSLAM modems, children diapers and other hygienic products, as well as medicaments and medical goods.

It is planned that four more enterprises will be launched by the end of 2011, which will produce gas-cylinders for automobiles, electronic gas meters and other demanded goods.

Navoi Free Industrial-Economic Zone was founded in line with the presidential decree from December 2008. It was created for 30 years and the term can be extended. Navoi FIEZ is located at 564,000 hectares of land.

During the period, special customs, currency and tax regimes, as well as simplified order of entry and exit, as well as work permission of non-residence of Uzbekistan will be effective at the zone. Tax preferences will apply at minimal volume of investments for 3 million euros.
