OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2011. The first of the gas turbines of the Parnaiba thermoelectric complex MPX is building in Maranhao will be arriving shortly. Manufactured by GE, the turbine is ready for shipment and will be delivered at the worksite in January 2012. The energy pole may reach 3,722 MW capacity, and will consume the gas coming from the exploration blocks MPX and OGX own jointly in the Parnaiba Basin. The first stage of this joint venture with Petra (30%) will start its commercial operation in 2013. MPX is forecasting that 1,000 direct jobs will be generated during venture implementation stage.
