OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2011. The concreting works for foundation of the large-sized boring miller of TZ (Tianjin) Binhai Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. was completed. This works was contracted by the Project Division of Bohai Branch of MCC Tiangong Construction Co., Ltd. (CMTCC), reported the press-centre of MCC.

The foundation was constructed for the most advanced 5-connecting-shaft boring miller, which was the only one in the world. It is 75m in length, 22.3m in width and -8.7m in depth, with a total concreting volume of 11000m, and therefore is rated as a super-large and ultra-deep equipment foundation.

As the foundation of boring miller is featured by large volume of concrete, the Project Division has taken the following effective measures: (i) lowering the temperature by embedded cooling water pipe and circulating water; (ii) moisturizing and thermal insulation through external coverage; and (iii) designating specific staff to monitor the internal temperature of the concrete foundation by means of thermocouple thermometry.

Since the commencement of the foundation works, the Project Division has conquered various difficulties (such as the limited space on jobsite, many changes in design documents and complicated geological conditions), adopted efficient and effective countermeasures and thus ensured the smooth project implementation.

Prior to the concreting works of the foundation for the SPEEDRAM5000 boring miller, the Project Division organized a specific seminar for mass concrete casting works, with a target to make various preparation for the project execution. The Concrete Mixing Station submitted technical safeguard measures to the Project Division, stating the amount and moving routes of the pump truck and the tank truck, and thus provided reliable guarantee to the continuous casting works.
