OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2011. American Chamber of Commerce in Uzbekistan held a seminar titled “Attracting American tourists to Uzbekistan” at the UzExpoCenter within 17th Tashkent International Tourism Fair "Tourism on the Silk Road".

Representatives of Tashkent State Economy University, Uzbektourism National Company, MIR Corporation, Embassy of the USA in Tashkent, representatives of state and private sectors and others participated at the event.

It was said that tourism sector of Uzbekistan has great opportunities and growing number of tourists from Europe, Asia and the United States is evidence for that.

It was underlined that inexistence of agreement between local and Americal airline, visa issues, and information are some of barriers, which hinder for development of inbound tourism from the United States.

The seminar participants also discussed issues of simplification of logistic operation and other important issues of developing tourism in Uzbekistan.
