OREANDA-NEWS. November 9, 2011. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company continues to pay out the insurance indemnity to the tourists affected by the suspension of the activity of Luzhniki Travel Company tour operator, the responsibility of which was insured for 30 million rubles.

The insurance company indemnifies the actually incurred and documented expenses to the tourists. As on October 27, 2011, the payments amounted to 5.6 million rubles (48 loss notifications, 112 tourists). To date, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has registered 82 loss notifications from 192 tourists. The total amount demanded is 15,619,608 rubles. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company continues to accept applications from the victims, as well as to pay the insurance indemnity.

Examination of claims from the tourists affected by the suspension of the activity of Luzhniki Travel Company is carried out within the legal period. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company treats everyone who applied for an insurance indemnity with great care and understanding. However, we should note that separate applications to the juridical instances without a prior notification of the insurer about the event, will only delay the insurance reimbursement. We believe that the rights of tourists, who should quickly receive the funds, are violated due to the lack of competent legal support, which, first of all, must be expressed in the recommendations to go to the insurance company in the pretrial order. Such a procedure will also help reduce the cost of legal support.

Please note that under the terms of the insurance policy, any payment of indemnity can be made to each of the victims after the date of his/her tour. After that, OOO Luzhniki Travel Company will be obliged to pay damages and, accordingly, it is the date of the insurance event under the contract of insurance of the civil liability of the tour operator.

To date, the amount demanded by the victims does not exceed the insured amount of the contract of insurance of the civil liability of the tour operator (30 million rubles).  The insurance company will pay the insurance indemnity in the amount of the           duly documented expenses.

As you know, OOO Luzhniki Travel Company announced the suspension of the activities on August 9, 2011, and the customers of the tour operator failed to make previously paid tours. According to the contract of liability insurance, the failure or improper performance by Luzhniki Travel Company of its obligations is an insurance event, respectively, the losses incurred by the tourists are to be compensated by the insurance company.

Ingosstrakh Insurance Company will regularly inform the public about the settlement of the insurance event of OOO Luzhniki Travel Company.
