OREANDA-NEWS. November 09, 2011. Baosteel insists on "customer first, service first" philosophy and its practice in the Xinjiang oil field has taken a solid step. Recently, jointly funded by Baosteel, Karamay city and Xinjiang oil field, "Baosteel - Karamay OCTG project" officially starts construction. Baosteel Group General Manager He Wenbo, Karamay City Party Secretary Xu Weixi make speeches on the opening ceremony and lay the foundation stone for the project, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

To conscientiously implement the spirit of the CPCC work conference on Xinjiang, and  following the industry development new idea of "building the global oil city" in Xinjiang Karamay City's "12th five-year plan", Baosteel, Karamay City and Xinjiang oil field fully evoke their strengths, expand European and Asian markets and seek cooperation and development.In March this year, Baosteel - Karamay OCTG project cooperation agreement was signed.

Belonging to CNPC, the Xinjiang oil field is located in Karamay City. It is the largest oil producer in west China, mainly engaged in the oil and gas resources' exploration,  development, gathering, transportation, and sales. OCTG project is located in Karamay Petrochemical Industrial Park. The 1st phase project covering an area of 168 acres and the 1st step production will be 60,000 tons of OCTGs. The project general contracting is by Baosteel Engineering EPC, and the construction is by No.17 Metallurgical Construction Co.. It is planed to put into operation in September next year.

Baosteel - Karamay OCTG project combines Xinjiang oilfield mining technology and the depth of Baosteel's product R & D and realizes complementary advantages. Based on deepening and optimizing the pipe supply and processing areas, Baosteel will form Baosteel's one-stop technology service capabilities to Xinjiang oilfield and achieve win-win cooperation.

Xu Weixi says in his speech that the OCTG project is one of the important items in Karamay City's machinery manufacturing base construction and is of great significance in promoting the Karamay City "six base" construction.Karamay City will create a good environment and provide a full range of services for construction of the project, fully cooperate with and support the project.He hopes that Baosteel and Karamay City will continue to deepen cooperation, expand cooperation areas,develop and produce more extension of products  and bring development for more industries.

On behalf of Baosteel, He Wenbo offers congratulations on the smooth start of the project. He points out that Karamay City and the Xinjiang Oilfield Company have the Eurasia  bridgehead advantage, connecting Central Asian countries. Baosteel will take this cooperation project as an opportunity to practice Baosteel's "customer first, service first" philosophy, following Karamay City's strategic goal of "building the global oil city" and  together with Karamay City and Xinjiang Oilfield Company, build Baosteel - Karamay OCTG project into a cooperation model between Baosteel and CNPC and make it a beautiful signature of Karamay city.He demands that all construction parties should adhere to high start, high standard, high quality principles, ensure safety, quality and progress and take concrete actions to create fine quality works.
