KAMAZ Improved Quality of Products
OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2011. Trailer KAMAZ Inc., a subsidiary of KAMAZ in Stavropol Krai, has greatly improved the quality of products for the last six months.
It should be recalled that the top managers of Trailer KAMAZ Inc. were replaced this April. Instead of Evgeny Pismenny removed by the decision of the Board of Directors, young and promising top manager Valery Eryomin was appointed the director of the largest enterprise of the North Caucasus region.
The enterprise planned a whole range of activities to achieve the main objective – product quality improvement. One of such activities is to strengthen the construction of the main sides of all agricultural tipping trailers and semi-trailers, which provides not only their great durability, but also a higher payload.
A paint and varnish technology was fundamentally changed. Instead of using traditional ground enamels, the plant paints trailers in two layers – using 2-component primer and one-component polyurethane enamel. This system of ground and varnish painting developed by the well-known company "Helios" (Slovenia) has highly protective and decorative properties.
The next step was the introduction of state-of-the-art technologies of surface preparation before painting with the use of bead blasting and cleaning with chemical substances of the German company Henkel.
The quality was also improved due to an engine electrical system adapted to heavy road conditions with the use of harnesses in an airtight corrugated sheath and replacement of side and front end-outline lamps with LED ones. In addition to these mentioned measures, frame constructions of the trailers were reinforced with low-alloy structural steels made by domestic and foreign producers. It enabled to increase carrying capacity of the trailers without increasing their dry weight.
Stavropol’s plant signed several agreements: with the Austrian concern Palfinger Crane Rus LLC to establish a center for sales, installation and maintenance of crane-manipulators in the North Caucasus and Southern federal districts, with Pyatigorsk State University and NPF Agrotekhnik to develop up-to-date anti-locust and agricultural equipment. With the active support of the Government and the Ministry of Industry of Stavropol Krai, the commercial production of plates for heat exchangers of a new generation was mastered.
By 2013, it is planned to expand a dealer network and establish a service network to maintain trailers. Under development is a project to build electric vehicles at the plant.
