OREANDA-NEWS. November 08, 2011. Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov received a delegation headed by Durmush Yilmaz, Chief Economic Adviser of President of the Republic of Turkey and Former Chairman of the Central Bank of Turkey, reported the press-centre of CBA.

The meeting covered issues pertaining to the general economic situation in Azerbaijan, reforms in the banking sector and economic relations between the two counteries, including interaction between banking systems.

Speaking about successful development of the economic relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, as well as relations in the banking industry, Governor of the Central Bank Elman Rustamov stressed vital importance of future collaboration between the central banks of the two countires and between banking industries in general. Elman Rustamov also informed the participants of the meeting on the measures taken in Azerbaijan with the view of developing the banking industry and directed their attention at the main indices of the banking system for the past period of the year of 2011.

The head of the delegation highly appreciated the measures taken in the fnancial and banking sectors of Azerbaijan and expressed his deep satisfaction with the collaboration between our counties. The delegation members laid emphasis on strong relations established between the economies of Azerbaijan and Turkey and said that these relations would be successfully extended in the future.

The current status of the economic relations between the two counties and perspectives of future development were also discussed at the meeting.
