PM of Ukraine to Ensure Green Corridor to Legally Operating Companies
OREANDA-NEWS. November 07, 2011. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov is ready to ensure "green corridor" to legally operating companies. He has declared this during a meeting with foreign business associations and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
"If you guarantee that those companies that you represent will work honestly and transparently, we will sign an agreement on the introduction of" green corridor "for all goods, delivered to Ukraine from your companies," Mykola Azarov has declared. However, he instructed the Head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine Ihor Kalyetnik to hold meetings with representatives of business and to develop drafts of these agreements.
During an meeting, the participants have discussed and have agreed the proposal of the Prime Minister on the introduction of a so-called green corridor for legally operating companies with impeccable business reputation.
Moreover, Mykola Azarov has stressed that he is the adherent of decriminalization of tax economic crimes because, as he said, the main thing to establish legal operation of business. "I think that we will implement such strategy," he has noted.
"Without the help of business, without the help of entrepreneurs, without specific work on the mistakes, the Government is difficult to conduct work on business climate improving in Ukraine," Mykola Azarov has underlined.
The Prime Minister has asked to entrepreneurs, what changes are necessary for importing to the legislation and how businessmen are being evaluated the reforms which are conducted by the Government.
The President of American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine Jorge Zukosky has noted that business requests in 2012 to focus on reforms that facilitate activity of really operating companies and to continue a policy of deregulation and simplifications of doing entrepreneurial activity. According to him, creating an attractive business climate in Ukraine is extremely promising.
The meeting has taken place at the initiative of the Prime Minister. As he said, the President and the Government are concerned about the signals about certain obstacles to an entrepreneurial activity and that entrepreneurs do not see that improving the business climate. In this regard, Mykola Azarov has addressed to participants of meeting with the request in principle and openly to consider these issues and to find ways of the decision of existing problems.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the heads of ministries and departments with whom business closely cooperates and whose regulatory activity affects to the business climate forming in Ukraine. Also the meeting was attended by leaders of business associations of some countries, the World Bank for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova, the EBRD.
