OREANDA-NEWS. November 07, 2011. According to the latest figures, the Russian Railways network shipped 109.9 million tons of freight in October 2011, exceeding the amount for same month last year by 2.9%, reported the press-centre of RZD.

Freight turnover in October 2011 increased 4.8% over the same month in 2010 to 183 billion tariff ton-kilometers.

According to the latest figures, total freight shipments in January-October 2011 amounted to 1,031.5 million tons, up 3% compared to the same period in 2010.

In the 10 months of 2011 so far, freight turnover was 1.8 trillion tariff ton-kilometres, an increase of 5.4% on January-October 2010.
