FAS Suspended Case against ETK OJSC and other Respondents
OREANDA-NEWS. November 07, 2011. The Commission of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) considered a case regarding some companies operating on the market of chemical products, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
FAS suspects that the companies concluded anti-competitive agreements (in violation Clauses 1, 3 and 4 Part 1 Article 11 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”).
In July 2011, FAS Russia initiated a case against “ETK” OJSC and some other large companies operating on the chemical market (overall, more than 10 respondents are brought in the proceedings).
The case is suspended because FAS Russia is carrying out unscheduled inspections; the findings will be subjoined to the case file. In parallel with FAS inspections, the law enforcement bodies of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case under Article 178 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and carried out investigative actions.
“For us it’s a hallmark case: cartels seriously harm not only national companies but also the whole society. We will press for restoring fair competition on the market of chloride and caustic soda”, said Stats-Secretary, Deputy Head of FAS Andrey Tsarikovskiy.
