UK’s Caspian Energy Adviser Visits Ashgabat
OREANDA-NEWS. November 03, 2011. Angus Miller, UK’s Caspian Energy Adviser, who has arrived in our country to participate in the International Conference entitled “Integrating Global Energy Markets – Providing Energy Security”, is on a visit to Turkmenistan.
During the visit to Ashgabat the guest had the meetings at the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources, the State Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources Management and Use under the President of Turkmenistan and the Turkmengaz State Concern.
A focus of the lively discussion was the prospects for Turkmen-British cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, in this context the UK’s Caspian Energy Adviser was briefed on priority aspects of Turkmenistan’s energy policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to promote mutually advantageous international partnership in this sphere. It was noted that this policy had conditioned the willingness of the business circles of the UK and Europe to enhance fruitful contacts with Turkmenistan that had the tremendous hydrocarbon potential and promoted the strategy for modernizing fundamentally the fuel and energy sector and diversifying energy transit to world markets.
The sides underlined the timeliness and significance of the Turkmen leader’s constructive initiatives to achieve global energy and build a reliable platform for promoting effective cooperation in the fuel and energy sector which had received wide support from the international community. In this regard the guest expressed belief that the international forum in Ashgabat would contribute to strengthening and enhancing positive collaboration in this sphere.
