“Blue Corridor” Racers in Volgograd
OREANDA-NEWS. November 02, 2011. KAMAZ vehicles were the main exhibits of the NGV show held in Volgograd within the frameworks of the auto race “Blue Corridor’2011”.
The mobile exhibition consisting of racing vehicles was deployed on the central square of Volgograd and attracted attention of many visitors.
Particular interest in it was taken by Anatoly Brovko, Head of Administration of Volgograd Oblast; Gasan Nabiev, General Director of Gazprom transgas Volgograd; and managers of the regional automobile enterprises.
According to Anatoly Brovko, methane is not only an ecologically friendly, but also efficient motor fuel. The Head of Administration noted that it was necessary to renew municipal transport fleet and start using CNG vehicles. This issue was also discussed at a round table meeting of the Volgograd Oblast’s Duma.
According to Evgeny Pronin, Deputy Head of the Gasification and Gas Utilization Directorate of Gazprom, there are all preconditions for successful transition of vehicles to natural gas. KAMAZ offers various favourable options of methane-powered vehicle purchasing, and Gazprom is ready to expand a filling stations network in Russia and provide every station located far from arterial highways with fuel with the help of a mobile fueller. To date, the most important thing is that all participants – authorities, businessmen and automobile producers – should be interested in this process.
