OREANDA-NEWS. November 01, 2011. The Moldovan Cricova winery has been granted the right to resume the export of wine in bulk to Russia after a long break, Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat told a news briefing.

Filat said that this was "a problem on our working agenda which we have resolved following my meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin". Filat said that for the time being Cricova is the only Moldovan enterprise having this right, but noted that this is merely the beginning. Russian authorities have previously said they were considering possibilities of allowing the Moldovan companies Tomai Vinex and Moldavskiy Standard to export wine in bulk to Russia as well.

The Russian Federation is the biggest importer of Moldovan wines. In the first eight months of 2011, Moldova exported wine worth 97.4 million dollars, of which 25.8 per cent to Russia.
