OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2011. TenizService LLP (affiliated company of National Company KazMunaiGaz JSC) with specialized сompany SEACOR Response have held practical exercises on Tier 2 oil spills response at Tubkaragan bay (Mangistau oblast).

Exercises have been held in order to get and exchange experience and practical use of technologies in the sphere of oil spill response.

There were involved 17 employees of TenizService LLP and SEACOR Company, three specialized vessels Teniz-1, Teniz-2, Sea Eagle, 250 meters of oil boom Ro BOOM, skimmer (oil-collecting equipment) of 25 m3, and 4 units of special automotive equipment in exercises.

In compliance with exercises plan, dispatcher's console at the offshore oil operations support base of TenizService LLP received coordinates of oil spill and after that Sea Eagle and Teniz-1 boats were sent to the oil spill place and began deployment of oil boom to isolate oil spill. Then Teniz-2 boat started to collect spilled oil with a skimmer and floating tank for oil temporary. After filling the tank with oil Teniz-2 boat sailed away to the shore to change the skimmer and the tank. This process continued up to complete removal of spilled oil from the sea.

TenizService LLP and SEACOR Response Company plan to carry out joint exercises of a large scale. Implementation of similar measurements will promote further increasing of experience in oil spills response, creation of a pool of professional Kazakh specialists and development of interrelations of organizations involved in the process of oil spills response actions.
