OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2011. In Kiev the First International TEFI Commonwealth TV Festival was held. Academy of Russian Television Foundation appeared as an organizer of the Festival with the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS member states (IFESCCO). Ingosstrakh Insurance Company is a traditional official partner of the National Television Contest "TEFI" and All-Russian Television Contest "TEFI-Region". This time Ingosstrakh Insurance Company supported the First International TEFI Commonwealth Television Festival, having become the event’s sponsor once again.

The festival included in the plan of activities related to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States, was held on the eve of the VI Forum of Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia of the CIS countries. The year 2011 has been announced the Year of Cultural Heritage in the CIS. All this has pretty much determined the main theme of the First International TEFI Commonwealth Television Festival - "National Cultural Traditions and the Dynamics of the Contemporary Cultural Environment in Television Programs of the CIS Countries."

During the festival, demonstrations of works have passed in various genres of television, produced by TV companies of CIS countries, and related to the theme of the festival, their discussions with the participation of invited experts, the "round table" on topical issues of broadcasting and TV production, along with the closing ceremony with the award of diplomas and presenting gifts for participants of the festival.

Within the first show of works there appeared the projects of the Russian television companies. The Russian part of the show was made up of the works by the winners of the National Television Contest "TEFI" of the recent years. TV Programs of Ukraine were introduced by the General producer of "the First National TV Channel" Aleksey Semenov. Within the festival there took place a demonstration of programs: "What is the movie about?" with Savik Shuster as presenter, and musical program "Фольк-Music" ("Folk-Music").

 The outcome of the festival was a decision to conduct master classes for young TV people and study visits to the Commonwealth countries.

Presenting gifts to the organizers of the festival, Armen Bagratovich Smbatyan and Mikhail Efimovich Shvydkoi, the Chairman of "INGO Ukraine" JSIC Igor Gordienko noted: "I am pleased that the First International TEFI Commonwealth TV Festival was held in Kiev. We hope that it will become an annual festival and will promote cooperation between television companies and professionals from the CIS countries."
