OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2011. The Government of Ukraine will continue to increase level of a salary of educators in 2012. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has declared it during the Third All-Ukrainian Congress of Educators.
Mykola Azarov has noted that in 2011 the Cabinet of Ministers has increased the salary to teachers five times. According to the Minister of Education and Science, Youth and Sports Dmytro Tabachnik, when in October 2010, the average salary of the school had amounted to 2180 UAH, then in October of this year - 2930 UAH.
"This year we raised wages teachers, next year we will be too, and we will also rise five times. And every time we will raise little," the Prime Minister has declared. Thus, he has explained what sharply to raise the size of the salary the Government does not presume, because it can have negative consequences for the economy. Mykola Azarov has reminded experience of Belarus: "At one time, in Belarus, they have raised salaries by 30% to all employees of budgetary sphere. And what has happened? Almost 2.5 times the rate of the currency fell, the annual inflation rate 200% - meaning that prices rose more than twice. Do we should to repeat this experience? We didn't." Therefore, the Head of Government has noted, the salaries to teachers would rise gradually, in several stages.
According to Mykola Azarov, the opportunities to raise salaries are, therefore the Government will consistently fulfill of own social obligations. "If you objectively assess the situation in the market, it is in principle positive. 2011 we will finish with the growth. For 2012, we will also plan 5 % of the growth," he has declared.
In addition, the Head of Government has emphasized, there are simple practical tasks facing before the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports and before heads of regions. In particular, within two years, all remote educational institutions should be completely equipped by the school buses, any school should not have toilets on the street, and also the issues of providing schools with technical facilities for training should be resolved.
Separately Mykola Azarov has focused on solving the problem of providing housing for teachers. "We will search for the decision of this issue, both in scales of whole country, and certainly in the context of each region. And I think that we will find such solution," the Prime Minister has declared and has added that teachers should have the incentives and interest to work creatively and completely to devote themselves to a profession.
