OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2011. Georgia is the important partner of Ukraine. This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko during an official visit to Georgia, which has begun today. The Vice Prime Minister has headed the official Ukrainian delegation at the Sixth meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Georgian commission on economic cooperation.

"Ukraine and Georgia are being associated the good relationship in economy, trade, humanitarian spheres. I think, today's meeting of the commission will allow to deepen them and to be advanced in the decision of those problems that we have," Sergiy Tigipko has declared on the eve of meeting. He has updated that it is issues in particular of the settlement, related to a catch of fish and exports sugar.

In addition, during his visit, Sergiy Tigipko has met with Ukrainians living in Georgia, at the monument to Taras Shevchenko. He has expressed confidence that Ukraine should maintain relations with representatives of diaspora. "These islets of the Ukrainian culture which are in Georgia, must be maintained. I meet representatives of diaspora the third time, and we managed to decide already many issues which excite our compatriots," the official has underlined.

Today in Tbilisi, Sergiy Tigipko will also take part in the International Business Forum "Ukraine-Georgia: High potential of partnership."
