Presidents of RZD, SNCF Opened Exhibition in Moscow
OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2011. The President of Russian Railways Vladimir Yakunin and the President of France’s national rail Company SNCF Guillaume Pepy took part in the opening ceremony of an exhibition at Kursk station in Moscow, reported the press-centre of RZD.
The exhibition was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of France’s high-speed TGV train services.
On display is a simulator of the world train record speed of 574.8 kmh, which the TGV set in 2007.
Russian Railways and SNCF have been cooperating fruitfully for a number of years. Several projects have been implemented as a result of the joint activities between the two companies, in particular the launch of the Moscow - Nice service, the start of a freight service between Vesoul and Kaluga to ship car components for assembly in Russia and a twinning programme between five stations in Russia and France.
The parties have also agreed to launch a new Moscow - Berlin - Paris service in December 2011. The new service will run three times a week during the winter and five times a week in summer.
