FAS Suspects Companies Fixed High Price on Market of Fluoropolymers
OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2011. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case regarding “GaloPolymer-Perm” OJSC and “GaloPolymer Kirovo-Chepetsk” Ltd. upon the signs of fixing monopolistically high price for fluoropolymers, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
FAS Russia received several complaints from defense enterprisers regarding а never-ending increase of prices for fluoropolymers.
Investigating the complaints, FAS analyzed the state of competition on the market of fluoropolymers and revealed that “GaloPolymer-Perm” OJSC (former “Galogen” OJSC) and “GaloPolymer Kirovo-Chepetsk” Ltd. (former “Polymer Plant at Kirovo-Chepetsk Chemical Works” Ltd.) abused dominance on the market of fluoropolymers F4-PN and F4-PN90 used to produce F4EO electro-isolated film. Both producers are members of the same group of persons.
“Analysis of prices and costs structure showed that production costs of fluoropolymers F4-PN and F4-PN90 did not match changes of their prices. Therefore, actions of “GaloPolymer-Perm” OJSC and “GaloPolymer Kirovo-Chepetsk” Ltd. have the signs of violating Clause 1 Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition” in terms of fixing monopolistically high price for fluoropolymers F4-PN and F4-PN90”, explained the Head of FAS Department for Control over Chemical Industries and Agro-Industrial Complex, Teimuraz Kharitonashvili.
