OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2011. Belarus has seen the consumer price index grow 3.4% over the first 11 days of October to total 80.4% since early this year, the National Statistics Committee told reporters.

The largest increase in retail prices has been registered with oat flakes (up 21.6% since early October), butter (16.9%), chicken eggs (15.6%), prefabricated poultry (12.8%), first-class beef, milk and dairy products, margarine, boiled sausage, vodka, soft beverages, fresh cabbages, citrus fruits (5-8%), fabrics (5.9%), petrol (5%), clothing (2.7%), footwear (2.6%), medical services (8.9%), housing and utility services (5.1%), household services (3.2%).

Belarus’ inflation grew 9.9% in 2010 (10.1% in 2009). The forecast for 2011 stands at 7.5%-8.5%.
