OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2011. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on October 18th for construction of a new bridge in Khabarovsk. The builders of the OJSC STROY-TREST have started construction of a highway bridge over the Amurskaya Channel to the Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island.

The total length of the bridge including the approaches is of 5.1 kilometers, and the bridge proper will be 956.94-meters long. Bridge design: 42+105+5х126+105+63. Overall dimensions: G-11.5+2х1.0 m. The design traffic speed is of 120 km per hour. The highway bridge over Amurskaya Channel to the Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island will allow for deploying retail and recreation/entertainment areas near Khabarovsk and will also contribute to the development of agricultural production and country-home construction on the island. Vyacheslav Shport, Khabarovsk Region Governor, Sergey Khokhlov, Chairman of the Regional Legislation Duma, Mikhail Gutnikov, General Director, OJSC STROY-TREST, invitees, and reporters took part in the bridge groundbreaking ceremony.
