OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2011. M2M telematics Group, following the latest trends for growth in the global navigation market, has developed a unique set of High-Tech products that infinitely expand the capabilities for facility-oriented telematics. According to the group's leadership, M2M telematics is set to launch into serial production a next-generation AVL-terminals line.

"By 2015 the size of the navigation market will surpass 100 billion RUR. Sales of GLONASS equipment have increased four-fold in the last two-and-a-half years alone! This goes to show how well-developed the Russian navigation market is, in all possible areas. The spike in demand for GLONASS technology will give us the impetus to take M2M services to a whole new level of growth. In turn, М2М telematics, as a technology leader, is well-placed to offer new High-Tech products to our clients," said the marketing director of the M2M telematics Group, Svetlana Khadonova.

M2M telematics Group, a technological leader in the market for transport telematics and satellite navigation, creates GLONASS equipment featuring two SIM cards, a built-in rechargeable battery and Wi-Fi module. GLONASS equipment, developed on the basis of the unique M2M telematics platform, allows the Group's clients to economize on their roaming resources far more effectively when transferring data via GSM networks, ensure high-speed information transfer via an alternative Wi-Fi channel, create the necessary conditions for monitoring and managing transport regardless of which on-board network is being used, and much else besides.

"High demand for AVL-terminals prompted us to create a whole range of GLONASS navigation equipment based on the universal telematics platform by M2M telematics, which has passed the test of time. This modular approach to planning and production will significantly reduce the cost of navigational products, whilst making it possible to reconfigure production in an extremely short space of time, when launching products for which there is greater demand in the market for transport telematics equipment. I think, the new range of GLONASS devices will fully live up to the expectations of customers in various sectors, and ensure complex navigation solutions at lowest cost," said the M2M telematics Group's executive director, Aleksey Smiatskikh.

As you may remember, back in August 2011 the M2M telematics Group launched the first low-cost GLONASS equipment on the market. AVL-terminal M2M-Cyber GLX Lite is intended for companies with modest transport fleets, which are focused predominantly on control and monitoring of vehicles, and also on providing safe transfer of passengers and loads.

The advantage of the multi-purpose M2M-Cyber GLX Lite terminal is the optimal price-quality ratio when you have the dual-system GLONASS/GPS-receiver produced by KB GeoStar Navigation (a member of the M2M telematics group). The cost of the equipment is 9,900 RUR.

The GeoS-1 and GeoS-1M receivers by KB GeoStar navigation have long been the navigation device of choice among Russian producers of AVL-equipment, thanks to their superior specification and high production quality. The high sensibility of the receiver and the speed at which the coordinates are determined, combined with its small dimensions and low power consumption, mean that this range of GeoS chip-sets is guaranteed to be a success in various types of consumer apparatus.

"In 2012 KB GeoStar navigation is commencing serial production of modules for the new generation of GeoS-3. The price, dimensions and power consumption of the receiver are identical to the foreign equivalents, but in addition it features the 'dream ticket' combination of GLONASS/GPS, which will provide the best possible characteristics by comparison with single-system solutions. We are going to be competing with the global market leaders in the telematics sector. It is going to be a tough challenge, but we are ready to tackle it!" added the director of KB GeoStar navigation, Anatoly Korkush.
