OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2011. On the eve of the Third International Conference on the development of the automobile industry AutoPROM.ua 2011 at Government House, met the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov with the Secretary General of OICA automakers Yves van der Straaten, Head of Association of Ukrainian automakers Ukrautoprom Tariel Vasadze and its president, Mykhailo Reznik. The subject of discussion was the situation in the automotive industry and the Ukrainian car market.

During the meeting the sides exchanged views on recent trends in global auto industry, as well as the prospects of automotive industry in Ukraine.

"Certainly, we will support the domestic auto industry. Now this question is studied of Economic Development. Our task - to create an environment in which our auto industry would have developed successful", - said Mykola Azarov. He also noted that the Cabinet of Ministers will take all steps to promote foreign investment in the Ukrainian automotive industry and will provide favorable conditions for foreign investors, who will be engaged in automobile industry in Ukraine.
Head of Government also noted that the visit of Secretary General of the international organization automakers will promote cooperation between Ukrainian and foreign automakers. "We hope that your organization will contribute to our cooperation with the world's auto industry auto manufacturers," - he said.
Yves van der Straaten, in turn, pointed out that Ukraine has great potential for attracting foreign investment. "We can speak about the Ukraine in particular the global context. This is - a market with enormous potential. And you have quite a bit in order to make progress. We are ready to accumulate and efforts to bring here the best international practices. It is an experience of forty-five countries and more than six million people employed in this business"- the head of OICA.

Head of International Automobile Manufacturers' Association OICA arrived in Ukraine on the invitation of President of the association "Ukrautoprom" Mykhailo Reznik. On Tuesday, October 25 in Kyiv Hotel Hyatt Regency Kiev hosted the Third International Conference on the development of the automobile industry AutoPROm.ua 2011, which was the special guest of the Secretary-General of OICA Yves van der Straaten.
