OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2011. Following the results of the social event "Buying in "Lenta", you help children", "Lenta" Company has managed to remit 1,5 million roubles to the account of welfare fund "AdVita"

From July, 26th till September, 9th, while purchasing in "Lenta" hypermarkets chain in 21 city of Russia, buyers of school assortment goods could make their contribution to rendering aid to sick children. The company has assumed upon itself the obligation to transfer each rouble of 100 roubles spent by the buyer within the framework of the event "Parents – to "Lenta" into the account of welfare fund "AdVita".

In the end of September, the results of the event "Parents –to "Lenta" have been summed up. During 1,5 months, 2 400 000 of writing-books and other goods have been sold in the company’s hypermarkets chain.

Today "Lenta" is known not only as a large retail network, but also as a socially -active company adhering to the policy of low prices for the goods, and participating in various social programs for population.

"Our purpose is not just to spend money, but to help the needy. Each project is individual for us. We make the decision, proceeding from the company’s social policy, and we do judge how much of our help a beneficiary needs" - Dina Gibson, commercial director of non-food, says".

"Unfortunately, the number of children suffering from oncological diseases increases in our country with every year. We are convinced that business should be socially responsible. This year we have made the decision, within the framework of marketing event “Parents –to "Lenta", to hold this social event, and to remit to the welfare fund helping the children, some share of profit from sale of school goods "- continues Dina Gibson.

According to Lenta’s representative, the fund’s work background and possibility to give aid in the entire territory of Russia, as hypermarkets of "Lenta" chain are opened in many cities of the country, became the important factors in our choice of the fund.

"We have chosen fund "AdVita" which has been successfully working through many years, with hundreds of rescued lives on its account. We thank all those who have taken part in our social events and has made his contribution to treatment of children".

Using the money transferred by "Lenta" company, welfare fund "AdVita" purchased vital medical preparations for treatment of 16 children and teenagers.

Parents of the children who have received the aid, employees and volunteers of "AdVita" fund, from the bottom of their hearts thank the management of hypermarkets chain "Lenta" and all the buyers who have taken part in the event "Parents –to "Lenta", for their kind participation and mercy.

Also, in the period from July till September, the social event "Help to prepare the child for school" passed in the hypermarkets’ chain. Employees of the chain’s stores and buyers were bringing the goods for school, stationery, to "Lenta". When the event was over, the goods have been handed to the following organizations: Pavlovsk children's home (Leningrad region), St.-Petersburg branch of the Russian Red Cross, ОGОU "Center of distant education" for the disabled children, and Ryazan regional public organization of support of disabled children and large families "Оbereg" (Ryazan), Center "Maria" (Tyumen), Children's home "Sacred Nikolay's Shelter" (Novosibirsk), Children's home of town Volzhskiy of Volgograd region, Kindergarten of combined type №103 "Turgay" (Naberezhnye Chelny), МОU "Children's home №9" (Cherepovets), GKОU for children-orphans and children left without parental care (Novorossisk). "Lenta" Company will be actively participating in social projects further on, supporting the welfare funds and the needy people.
