The Ukrainian IT companies can compete on equal footing with industry leaders, but for this purpose the state should change its attitude to IT sector and work closely with companies that operate in the market. This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko at the Conference "Investor Day of the Central and Eastern Europe. Internet - Technology and Innovation 2011 (IDCEE 2011)," in Kyiv.

"We have good prerequisites to become a leader in the IT sector in Eastern Europe.. Today we have a good education, industry - the second fastest growing in the world, is 30-40% annually, we occupy five positions in world exports of IT products. But it is - just the beginning," Sergiy Tigipko has told.

According to the official, a working group comprising representatives of the Association "IT Ukraine" and the IT Committee of the European Business Association, the rectors of the leading educational institutions that train IT professionals, has prepared amendments to legislation aimed at supporting the industry. It is about a closer link educational training IT professionals with market needs, tax and customs exemptions for IT companies as well - creating the necessary infrastructure: IT incubators and technology parks.
