OREANDA-NEWS. October 27, 2011. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) considered a case against the Federal Air Transportation Agency (Rosaviatsia), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

On 23rd August 2011, FAS initiated a case against Rosaviatsia upon the signs of violating Parts 1 and 3 Article 17 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

The case was initiated upon the materials forwarded by the law enforcement bodies and indicating the signs of antimonopoly violations by Rosaviatsia in organizing an open tender in 2008 for a government contract for supplying aviation equipment (a helicopter and a plane) for the needs of Rosaviatsia.

The FAS Commission concluded that combining different types of aviation equipment in the same lot reduced the number of economic entities that could have taken part in the tender if there had been separate lots for each type of aviation equipment – a helicopter and a plane. Such actions constituted violation of Part 1 Article 17 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”.

As the violation was committed over three years ago, governed by Article 41.1 the FAS Commission terminated the case against Rosaviatsia.
