Ukraine to Expand Cooperation with EBRD
OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2011. Ukraine is interested in expanding cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
This was announced by the First Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev at a meeting with the EBRD Vice President Jan Fischer.
According to Andriy Klyuyev, for Ukraine, the EBRD is one of the most effective and largest investors. For all years of cooperation, the total amount of the resources given by Bank constitutes more than 6.7 billion Euros for implementation 281 projects, he has reported.
"We consider these results as an important contribution of the EBRD in the development of real sector in Ukraine. And it is one of the priority tasks of development identified in the Program of economic reforms for 2010-2014," Andriy Klyuyev has declared.
He has noted that thanks to focused work of teams of the Ukrainian side and the Bank in 2010 - in 2011's, it was possible to reach enough significant positive results. "We have completed the preparation of three major infrastructural projects in the total of 825 million Euros, we have jointly prepared new medium-term Strategy of the European Reconstruction and Development Bank in Ukraine for 2011 - 2014, have signed and ratified the agreement on the contribution between Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development concerning participation of Ukraine in the Eastern Europe Fund Partnership for Energy Efficiency and Environment," the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine has reported. As he said, Ukraine and the European Reconstruction and Development Bank have enough sufficiently ambitious joint plans and projects. The meeting participants have discussed prospects of cooperation between Ukraine and the EBRD for the coming year.
