OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2011. The railway transport has been carried 344 million tons of cargo for the nine months of 2011 that by 8.4% over the corresponding period last year. During this period volumes of transit traffic have increased - by 13.1%, domestic - by 8.5%, export - by 7.8% and imports by 2.9%. The cargo turnover volume constitutes 178.8 billion ton-km, which is 5% over the plan and by 11.8% over last year's level.

187.9 million tons of cargo have transported in domestic traffic. Among them are dominated by coal - 69.2 million tons, iron and manganese ore - 30.2 million tons and building materials - 30.8 million tons.

The export cargos have transported 94.1 million tons. The basis of export cargo traffic amounted to iron and manganese ore - 25.3 million tons, building materials - 20.1 million tons, ferrous metals - 17.1 million tons, grain and milling products - 6.6 million tons, coal - 5.5 million tons, chemical and mineral fertilizers - 3.2 million tons of oil and oil derivatives - 3 million tons.

At import transportations, the basic share of loads have constituted coal - 9.1 million tons of oil and oil derivatives - 3.1 million tons of iron and manganese ore - 2.7 million tons and building materials - 1.6 million tons.
