ICBC Rolls Out Bank-Hospital One-Card Pass Service

To further improve the delivery of financial services to hospitals and their patients, ICBC in collaboration with some respected hospitals in China recently unveiled "Bank-Hospital One-Card Pass" service that will cater to those in need of medical services. Patients can easily make appointment to see doctor through ICBC's self-service terminals, Internet Banking or Telephone Banking. Moreover, there is no need for patents to queue up and pay the bill as the new service offers the convenience of "Diagnose First, Settle Later", reported the press-centre of ICBC.
"Bank-Hospital One-Card Pass" connects information systems of ICBC and hospitals together. Through such connectivity to link up ICBC's self-service terminals, Internet Banking and Telephone Banking, a basket of medical services and solutions is delivered to the hospitals and patients, who use ICBC's exclusive medical card or bank bard for the service. An ICBC medical card is a card with many purposes. It is a card for patients to register with a doctor and pay their bills at the hospital, also a card for hospitals to keep track of patient information in computer. Not only the card has all the financial and settlement functions of a bank card, but more functions are available such as: make appointment, pay bill, get treatment, top up card, print slip and refund.
"Bank-Hospital One-Card Pass" service is now available in Beijing, Ningxia, Hubei, Shanghai, Sichuan, Hunan, Jilin, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Heilongjiang, Chongqing. ICBC works with local hospitals to offer unique "Bank-Hospital One-Card Pass" products and services. They are all well-known large hospitals, namely, General Hospital of Chinese People's Liberation Army ("301 Hospital"), Peking Union Medical College Hospital, General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University, Central Hospital of Wuhan, Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University, Xiangya Hospital Central-South University, First Hospital of Jilin University, Dalian Dermatosis Hospital, Taizhou Hospital of Zhejiang Province, 211 Hospital of Chinese People's Liberation Army, and Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.
"Bank-Hospital One-Card Pass" service in Beijing is a case in point. ICBC and "301 Hospital" jointly launched "Medical One-Card Pass" service that will allow customers to use ICBC card (debit card or credit card) and enroll medical services either at ICBC counter, self-service terminals, Internet Banking. After binding own ICBC bank card with diagnosis ID in 301 Hospital, customers can now make appointment to see doctor within a week via self-service terminals, Internet Banking or Telephone Banking and pay registration fee in real-time.
When arriving at the hospital on the appointed date, just go directly to respective departments for medical consultation or treatment and pay the necessary fee (check-up, laboratory report, medical tablets) at the same time. No need to run journey between cashier and medical room to pay the fee. Besides, ICBC has tied up with Peking Union Medical College Hospital to offer Bank-Hospital co-branded card to customers, a "magnetic stripe + chip" card that comes with financial and medical treatment functions. Once the card is activated, the cardholder uses the card at self-service terminals to make medical appointment, look up appointment details, print or re-print appointment slip.
The next move of ICBC, as related by an executive with ICBC, is to step up the marketing effort to promote "Bank-Hospital One-Card Pass" service nationwide. ICBC takes maximum standing of its partnership with large local general hospitals in new way of providing state-of-the-art financial services for patients to get medical treatments and settle bills. The Bank will continue the effort to improve "Bank-Hospital One-Card Pass" service in a bid to bring more convenience to patients.
