OREANDA-NEWS. October 25, 2011. The Danube Logistics company signed an agreement with the Estonian Shipping Company for the charter of its vessel MV Kalana.  The agreement was signed by the companies’ heads during Prime Minister Vladimir Filat’s visit to the Tallinn port. The vessel was built in 1996 in the Netherlands and is registered in the Port of Tallinn.

Up to 266 containers, including 20 refrigerated containers, can be transported by the vessel at a time. Following the signing of the charter agreement in Tallinn Thomas Moser, the chairman of Danube Logistics, stated: “Apart from transshipment and storage services at Giurgiulesti International Free Port we will now be in the position to offer our clients a reliable, weekly feeder service to Istanbul”.

The vessel will be delivered to the Giurgiulesti port in mid November when the operation of the container terminal within Giurgiulesti International Free Port.is planned to be started. Giurgiulesti International Free Port is operated by ICS Danube Logistics SRL, a company owned by the Dutch company EASEUR Holding BV (80%) and by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (20%).
