OREANDA-NEWS. October 24, 2011. Belarusian railway takes part in the concluding Commission meeting of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD) on transport policy and strategy development which is held in Warsaw. During the event representatives of the railway administrations of the CIS, Baltic States and Europe consider a number of important issues.

On the agenda - the development and coordination of national programs for the organization of high-speed passenger trains, discussion of the progress in the contact group OSJD / ERA on the interaction of railway systems of 1520 mm and 1435 mm.

In addition, the meeting will focus on OSJD rail transport policy, consistent results on rail transport statistics. Experts will discuss the work plan of OSJD Commission on transport policy and development strategy for 2012, a draft work Program I of OSJD Commission for 2013 and future period.

Recall that Belarusian Railway has been in OSJD since 1992. Within the organization specific measures are being carried out providing further development of international rail transport in the message Europe-Asia-Europe, decisions are being taken on operational, technical and environmental aspects of rail transport.
