OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2011. Ukraine is a powerful player in the world grain-growing market, and grain stocks of domestic farmers are an integral part of world food security. This year's crop – record, and it constitutes more than 53 million tons of cereals, which has allowed Ukraine to take the first places in the export of many cultures.

According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prysyazhnyuk, it will finally seal the Ukraine's leading position in the external grain markets.

The Minister has stressed that this year every fifth tons of the barley, every eighth ton of corn and each twelfth ton of wheat which would be on sale in the world, would be the Ukrainian origin. Overall, by wheat export volumes during the current year Ukraine takes 8 place in the world, by corn - 3 place, by barley - 1 place.
