It is equipped with a microprocessor control system, traction engines with a supporting-frame construction. The locomotive will reduce power consumption and non-routine repairs and increase the mileage between regular servicing and overhauls of a new locomotive by 50%. The 2ES6 SINARA also gives 20% more freight capacity compared with the VL11 electric locomotives currently in use and cuts labour time on repairs by 15%.
The 2ES6 SINARA locomotive will replace the outdated VL 10 and VL 11.
