Egenera and NEC Signed Intent-to-Deliver Agreement

Egenera, a provider of enterprise-scale converged infrastructure management solutions, today announces it has signed an intent-to-deliver agreement with NEC, the leading volume server provider in the Japanese market, to develop PAN Manager? software optimized for the unique capabilities of the company's SIGMABLADE System. NEC will be the worldwide sole distributor of PAN Manager? Software Solution for the NEC SIGMABLADE System.
Egenera provides unified management and automation for physical and virtual computing environments. Utilizing a single user interface, PAN Manager simplifies data center infrastructure and management by leveraging standard server and networking technology to create a data center fabric on which both bare metal and virtualized workloads can be quickly and easily provisioned, providing the ideal platform for delivering cloud-based services and large scale Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployments, along with other business and mission critical enterprise applications that demand a flexible and highly available computing environment.
