OREANDA-NEWS. October 19, 2011. SOCAR Vice-president on ecology Ms. Rafiga Huseynzadeh has received the Japanese Sumitomo Corp. representatives at SOCAR Head office. Ms. Huseynzade pointed out the necessity of expanding relations between the two companies. She also touched on the implementation of the project within the Pure Development Mechanism of Kyoto Protocol.

Japanese delegation informed about implementation of the energy and infrastructure projects and expressed their will in cooperation with SOCAR. A decision was taken in the meeting to establish the SOCAR-Sumitomo Working Group on Implementation of the Kyoto Protocol and the Use of Clean Development Mechanism.

The process of registration of the mechanism should be completed in 2028, and the SOCAR Programme of Actions on the transition to zero emissions will last until 2028.
