Further, Innokenty Yegorov, the Head of the National Insurers’ Union, reviewed practices of governmental support of agricultural insurers, as well as prospects of the newly-introduced Federal Law “On Governmental Support of the Agricultural Insurance.” Aleksandr Nikitin, the Head of the Tambov Regional Duma outlined, from the viewpoint of a regional power, the administrative maintenance of the current agricultural insurance. New methods for independent testing of agricultural producers were described by the General Director of the Agricultural Innovative Technologies Center Nikolay Milashchenko. The event closed with the Q&A session, during which the speakers answered questions of the agricultural producers.
At the roundtable, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company was represented by the Deputy Director General Nikolay Galushin. He commented on the efficiency of the current governmental support, outlined today’s challenges, and explained how the new system of agricultural insurance would influence the market. Mr. Galushin believes that, when deciding on the insurance scope, agricultural producers need to gravitate towards minimizing their risks rather than expect governmental subventions.
