Uzbek and German Diplomats Discussed Trade-Economic Issues
OREANDA-NEWS. October 18, 2011. Special envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia Patrice Flor held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
The sides exchanged opinion on Uzbek-German relations. The sides noted positive mood of the political consultations between two states, which was held in May 2011, in the result of which the sides achieved agreements directed at strengthening political dialogue, the Uzbek ministry said.
The sides considered issues of developing trade-economic and investment cooperation and noted positive trends in this direction.
Projects for 1 billion euros have been implemented in Uzbekistan in cooperation with German investments. Currently, some 116 enterprises with German capital work in Uzbekistan, including in partnership with CLAAS, Knauf, MAN and others.
The sides also underlined that cooperation between law enforcement bodies of Uzbekistan, in cultural-humanitarian and scientific-technical spheres are also developing.
The sides discussed regional and international issues, representing mutual interest.
Wolfgang Neuen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Uzbekistan, participated at the event.
