OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2011. Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Colombia have held political consultations.

Azerbaijani MFA reports that Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov and Colombian delegation- by Deputy Foreign Minister Patti Londono Jaramillo.

The sides stated the role of high-level mutual visits in development of inter-state relations, exchanged opinions on mutual interest issues, regional and international cooperation.

Also presence of large potential for bilateral relations’ development in different activity spheres, in particular political, economical , trade and humanitarian areas was noted at the meeting.

Kh. Khalafov noted importance for deepening of existing relations between Azerbaijan and Colombia, told of necessity to develop inter-parliamentary relations , thanked for support of Azerbaijan’s candidacy for permanent member of UNO Security Council in 2012-13.

In turn Patti Londono Jaramillo highly appreciated the existing potential and told of her country’s interest in development cooperation on energy projects with Azerbaijan.
