OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2011. As of 11-th of October, ASTARTA finished sunflower and soybean harvesting campaign and initiated corn harvesting campaign. Overall, more than 76 thousand tons of soybean and 29 thousand tons of sunflower were harvested. Average soybean yields increased up to 50% and comprised 2.3 tons per ton. Sunflower average yields comprise 2,1 tons per ha. First thrashing of corn demonstrate record level yields - around 9.5 tons per ha on average (best fields up to 13 tons per ha).

Sugar beet harvesting campaign is in process. Around 40% of the beet has already been harvested with the average yields of 45 tons per ha. ASTARTA's sugar plants operate in accordance with the working schedule. As of 11-th of October, more than 830 ths. tons of sugar beet was brought from the fields to the plants and around 110 thousand tons of high quality sugar was produced.
