OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2011. According to operational data, for 9 months of the running year, the volume of passenger traffic through the airports of Ukraine was increased in comparison with the appropriate period of last year by 21.2% and has reached a point of 9570.8 thousand passengers, post-cargo flows have grown by 16.7% and have amounted to 34.2 thousand tons.

From the beginning of year, 5794.9 thousand citizens have used by services of the Ukrainian airlines that is 23.4 % more compared with January-September of last year.

 The significant positive trend - in the sector of the international regular passenger traffic: for 9 months 2011, 3292900 passengers are transported by the international regular lines - almost in one and a half time more than for the similar period one year ago. Almost 90 % of these transportations are performed by 2 leading domestic airlines. As a whole now the regular passenger traffic between Ukraine and the world countries is performing by 9 domestic airlines. During January-September 2011, it is fulfilled 40.7 thousand flights that by 8.5 thousand more than for the appropriate period of last year.

In the summer in addition to 6 routes opened in the first half of the year, there is begun execution of three more regular flights: from Boryspil to the capital of Kyrgyzstan Bishkek and from Kyiv (Zhulyany) to the Italian Venice and Spanish Valencia.

Also this year, the trend of growth is watched in the domestic airline market: it is transported 832.7 thousand passengers on the regular lines, rate of increase has constituted 121.4 %.

The volumes of cargo and mail have increased in comparison with the appropriate period of 2010 by 8.6 % and have amounted to 66.9 thousand tons.
