OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2011. The commission of assessors, who during several days inspected departments of the company against the criteria of the EFQM Excellence model, finished its work at KAMAZ.

It should be recalled that OJSC KAMAZ participates in the contest of the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM). According to Director of Quality of OJSC KAMAZ Alexander Abramenko, the competition allows the companies to understand their strong and weak points, use the results of self-evaluation to further improve their activities, and ensure transparency of reports for interested parties, including public authorities, in accordance with their requirements. In addition, it will provide top managers with enough adequate information for timely and effective decision-making, and help them correctly predict the future of their companies. The contest also has a positive impact on the image: according to its results, the company receives a certain degree of perfection.

KAMAZ decided to participate in the competition in December 2010. The inspection, which has recently took place on these days, was preceded by a "selection" procedure, in the course of which the organizing committee of the competition considered the report prepared by the company. As a result, it was decided to send assessors to KAMAZ. The expert group included Yuriy Gusakov, Committee Chairman, First Vice-President of Russian Organization for Quality, EFQM representative in Russia, Galina Ivanova, Deputy Director General of the Federal Government Institution "Center for Testing and Certification – St. Petersburg", Natalia Olkhovikova, Deputy Director of International Certification Service, and Larisa Kuzmina, Deputy Director of Quality Systems Department of Vodokanal of St. Petersburg.

In the course of the inspection, the commission visited the departments of quality, labor relations and personnel development, production management, purchasing and logistics, public relations, the service of strategic development, the corporate university, the committee on production systems development, research and development center, the automobile plant, and other facilities of the company. The first results of the inspection were announced at the closing meeting held in the executive director’s office of KAMAZ.
