OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2011. CTC Media, Inc. (“CTC Media” or “the Company”) (NASDAQ: CTCM), Russia’s leading independent media company announces the unprecedented audience share growth for its CTC/TV DIXI television channel in Moldova, reported the press-centre of CTC Media.

In the third quarter of 2011, CTC/TV DIXI audience share in its target “all 6-54 Urban” demographic averaged 6.9%, which is more than 3 times higher than 2.0% in the year-ago period and is the highest share for the last three years. In September 2011, the target audience share reached 6.5%, which exceeds September 2010 results by 4.1 percentage points. Moreover, for the first time since the start of cooperation between CTC Media and CTC/TV DIXI, the channel has become the third most watched broadcaster in Moldova (up from the eighth most watched in 2010).

The CTC/TV DIXI and CTC Media teams cooperated seamlessly to facilitate the successful optimization and transition of the channel’s operations to CTC Media standards. This allowed to improve the channel’s market position, which was followed by active development of CTC/TV DIXI on Moldovan market. In the first half of 2011, the revenue of the channel increased by 30.5% year-on-year in US dollar terms.

Marat Devlet-Kildeyev, Head of the CIS Group of CTC Media, commented: “We continue to be committed to strengthening our positions on the Moldovan television market. Our results in September and in the third quarter indicated that we are moving in the right direction. The success was driven by such popular shows as “Daddy’s Daughters”, “One for All” and “Morning on CTC” (internal CTC/TV DIXI production) as well as a strong line-up of movies. I would specifically like to point out that the target audience share of “Morning on CTC” in the 06:30am-09:00am time slot reached 20.8% in the third quarter, which is the best result among all TV channels in the country.”
