OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2011. The Jogorku Kenesh Committee on fuel, energy complex and subsoil has approved the three readings of the amendments to the Law "On Subsoil."

According to the press service of the Jogorku Kenesh, on October 4, 2011, a Committee meeting chaired by Deputy Azamat Arapbaev, reviewed the draft law "On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law "On Subsoil.” One of the initiators of the bill, MP Kubanychbek Tumanov reported on this issue. According to him, it is necessary to provide additional articles to the Law "On Subsoil" in order to regulate the subsoil use system providing for publicity of mining operations and limiting subsoil.

The measures will strengthen the control over the issuance of licenses by participating of all stakeholders in the process. The amendments will help to eliminate shortcomings in matters of licensing and prevent corruption mechanisms.

Committee Chairman Arapbaev supported the bill and offered to endorse it in three readings. According to him, adoption of the bill will bring additional funding to the national budget.

The deputies decided to approve the bill and forward it for the consideration of the Jogorku Kenesh.
