Ukraine Continues to Pay Debt Obligations Created by Predecessors
OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2011. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers has stressed that Ukraine continues to pay the debt obligations in good faith, created by predecessors.
According to him, Ukraine is currently paid out over 51 billion UAH public debts. It has paid about 70 billion UAH for gas under the enslaving formula. "That is, every Ukrainian, including infants, has overpaid for gas over a thousand UAH," Mykola Azarov has noted.
Furthermore, as the Prime Minister has noted, the Government continues to settle other debt claims to the state. For example, the requirement of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation to return 405 million dollars of a debt of notorious United Energy Systems of Ukraine of Ms. Tymoshenko. "And it is 3.3 billion USD, just imagine, equal to all expenses for building hospitals, schools, etc. in the regions of Ukraine in 2012," Mykola Azarov emphasized.
