October 13, 2011. 2,91 million tons of sea - born cargo, i.e. more by 16,4 percent if to compare with the corresponding period of 2010 were handled in Klaipeda Port in August of 2011. 801,5 thousand tons of oil were transhipped via Butinges Terminal in September of the current year, reported the press-centre of Klaipeda Port.

The handling turnover of fertilizers in September of 2011 was 966,4 thousand tons, i.e. more by 35,2 percent or by 251,7 thousand tons comparing with the corresponding period of 2010. Handling volumes of oil products in September of 2011 made 634,7 thousand tons, the change is +3,2 percent or +19,8 thousand tons. 421,9 thousand tons of Ro-Ro cargo,i.e. more by 6,6 percent or by 26,3 thousand tons comparing with thecorresponding period of the previous yearwere handled in September of 2011.

Calculating in units 22 288 units of this cargo, i.e. more by 6,5 percent or by 1 367 units were handled comparing with September of the previous year. Volumes of containerised cargohandling (calculating in TEU) were 27 712 TEU, i.e. more by 8,4 percent or by 2 152 TEU thanduring the corresponding period of 2010. In terms of tonnage the turnover of containerised cargo handlingalso advanced. Calculating in tons the growth rate was14,2 percent or 41,1 thousand tons comparing with the corresponding period of 2010, in total 331,0 thousand tons were handled.

Throughout September of this year 30 640passengers, i.e. more by 7,1 percent, or by 2 025 passengers than during the corresponding month of 2010 visited Klaipeda Port. In September of this year 3 409cruise passengers, i.e. more by 734 cruise passengers or by 27,4 percent comparing with the corresponding period of 2010 called Klaipeda Port.

626 vessels, i.e. more by 4,3 percent or by 26 vessels comparing with the corresponding month of the previous year called Klaipeda port in September of 2011.
