Port of Nakhodka Cargo Volume Down 7.2% in Jan-Sept
OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2011. Cargo traffic at the port of Nakhodka in January-September 2011 fell 7.2 percent year-on-year, to 11.12 million tons, the Nakhodka Port Authority said.
In the reporting period, shipments of anthracite increased by 20.98% to 2.72 million tons. The volume of ferrous metals declined by 26.27% to 2.4 million tons, of non-ferrous metals - surged 35.06% to 340,900 tons, exports of oil products fell by 8.67% to 4.89 million tons.
Container traffic dropped by 6% to 1,546 TEUs.
In September, the port’s throughput declined by 7.8% - to 1.16 million tons.
Russian Port of Nakhodka is located in the northern Bay of Nakhodka. The year-round navigable Port is connected via Trans-Siberian Railroad with the railway network of Russia and Western Europe. In 2010, Port of Nakhodka handled 15.32 million tons, down 2.6% from a year earlier.
