OREANDA-NEWS. October 12, 2011. The specialists of Beltelecom recorded a new case of Internet fraud - Phishing, which goal is to gain access to confidential data of users - login and password, reported the press-centre of Beltelecom.

On behalf of technical support a fraudster sent by e-mail announcements about failure of ByFly, VPN and ZALA services and offered to a subscriber to go to the website www.stat.byfly.by. However the indicated link forwarded the subscriber to fraudster’s webpage, which was the copy of Beltelecom’s website www.byfly.by and the subscriber entered its login and password to log into user cabinet.

On behalf of popular brands, as well as personal communications within different services fraudsters place letters, that often contain direct links to the sites, that look like the original sites (except for the address), or to the sites with a redirection. As soon as a user gets on a fake page, fraudsters try by different psychological techniques to encourage the user to enter on a fake page its access details (login and password), that allows fraudsters subsequently to gain access to the accounts of users on real (original) website. These phishing-schemes are based on ignorance of the users of the foundations of information security.
