Co-sponsored by Baosteel and BNA, the first auto plate EVI (early intervention) forum is recently held. 400 odd persons including Baosteel General Manager Ma Guoqiang, deputy general manager Wang Jing and representatives from hundreds of OEMs, key parts plants, society of automotive engineers, automotive research and development agencies at home and abroad and representatives of Baosteel automotive sales and research team attended the forum, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.  

EVI mode is the early stage which suppliers participate in downstream customer product development. By fully understanding customers' requirements for new products' raw materials, suppliers provide more appropriate materials and personalized service and extend technical services  to the downstream customers' whole process of new product  manufacturing.In China, Baosteel is the first to carry out exploration and practice of the EVI in the auto field. For 10 years, based on spirit of "creating value for customers" and combined with the actual development of China's automobile industry, Baosteel  constantly enriches and develops the EVI mode to meet the diverse needs of domestic customers.

The forum aims to explore  further optimization of Baosteel's cooperation model with the automobile plant and enhance the level of Baosteel service to customers, and to promote a wider, more effective cooperation between Baosteel and the auto industry. On the forum, the Baosteel researchers introduce Baosteel's research results in auto plate production, high-strength steel, high-strength steel forming technology, welding technology, mold technology, and hot stamping. Experts and customers from China Lightweight Auto Union, China Automobile Engineering Research Institute, Fiat Italy, SAIC, GM Shanghai, Shanghai Tongji University , Tianjin Motor Dies Co. discuss and give insights around "how can Baosteel offer better customer service" from different angles and different levels and form broad consensus.

Ma Guoqiang makes speech at the forum. He once again stresses the commitment to customers in terms of Baosteel auto panels and auto steel and clarifies three future work  direction. First, Baosteel will further strengthen the auto plate and auto steel research and development. Based on Baosteel auto steel development and the construction of application technology national key laboratories, EVI work ethic, and effective production, marketing and research system which is formed over the years, Baosteel will further improve the research and development.Especially in the lightweight area, we will increase  R & D efforts in the high-strength steel, high corrosion resistance steel, advanced auto surface steel and other.Second, we will further strengthen the strategic cooperation relationship with customers, better meet the auto safety and economicness demands. Third, Baosteel will further improve customer service work.Ma Guoqiang requires that we should better collect and meet the customers' needs by improving the customer  representation  mechanism and marketing service system.
